I finished recording the Surreal Reality album on August 5, 2026. It was released on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 and is now available on all of the major music streaming/download platforms (see links below).
The Surreal Reality album as usual has some of my most complex compositions to date. I experimented with microtonality for the first time and experimented further with swing feel (including with polymeters and polyrhythms), nested tuplets, and continued to do more with exotic scales, and odd time signatures.
This is a prog rock/prog metal/avant-garde rock/experimental music album. Although this music has significant complexity, it also is very palatable for people who just want to rock out. I’m proud of the art I created and am still surprised that I was able to pull this off.
